It's time for the Mankato news with Lizzie Barry reporting.
Good day
Today's top stories:
CA classes have started...
Lizzie's first 100% in college...
And a blast from the past...
Plus find out what has made Lizzie's roommate even weirder to live with...
CA classes have started! The first class was on Monday and while Lizzie was a little nervous to start, it was a lot of fun for everyone. They sarted with an ice breaker teambuilder called "The Ninja Game." And after that, they got to design their perfect dorm building and then solve a tricky riddle. All in all, it was a very successful three hours; Lizzie made some new friends and had a blast! She's still keeping her fingers crossed to get the job...
In the acadamia world, Lizzie recieved her first 100% on something actually important in college! After a week or so working on her Personal Narrative paper about France she got an A+! Special thanks to Maddy Pick for providing editing suggestions! Just a note: if anyone wants this to happen again and would like to help edit a paper or two please contact Lizzie she'd love it!
Last weekend, Lizzie had three different visitors- Friday night Sarah McFadden and her boyfriend, Chris White, came down to stay and hang out for a day. They played Glee-themed bananagrams and just enjoyed eachothers company. Saturday night Mya Smith drove down to meet Lizzie and they went to the Mankato girls' basketball game vs. Duluth. They did this for a few reasons: 1) they used to play basketball together, 2) Mya will be attending Mankato next year and, 3) Kayia Sygulla was playing for Duluth! It was really fun to watch her play college ball. They sat in the second row at half court so they saw every play real easily. It got a little awkward when they saw the entire Lakeville girls basketball team (coaches included) walk in to the gym and watch the game. But again, it was an all around fun weekend.
And now for the weather!
Outside, Mankato is cold. And snowy.
Inside, it's scortching hot.
Which brings us to the next topic...
Melissa is becoming more and more increasingly annoying to live with. The newest incidents:
-On our dry campus, keeping a beer in our fridge even though it is sooo against the rules while her roommate (Lizzie) is trying to get the CA job.
-Closing the window and door while the heat is being blasted (which no room has control over) all the time making the room extremely hot to the point of Lizzie sweating.
-Becoming OBSESSED with the song "Fireflies" by ocean city. That's all she ever listens to. It's still audible when she has headphones in.
-While Lizzie is trying to watch important shows on TV such as the Grammy's, LOST, and The Buried Life, she likes to skype extremely loud without using headphones and turning the volume up too loud. Can you say disrespecful? Especially when she watched a show or two everynight last semester and Lizzie was always respectful of that.
-Yesterday, she decided it'd be a good idea to start waxing her upper lip. Until Lizzie walked in the room. It was extreeeemely awkward and she stopped promptly after.
In other news, Lizzie hates her biology lab/discussion group. They are all very disrespectful, stupid, and rude. For example, today, they were supposed to be taking each others' blood pressure and her partner squeezed it up at least 10-20 past the "do not go past this number" number. It hurt and she told him to stop but he didn't understand how to work it and thought it had to be that high all the time so she had to take it away from him before her arm fell off. Lecture really isn't all that bad. It's not as horrible as expected, it's just the small group that's ruining it.
And finally, life is going decenly well. Busy, but what else would anyone suspect?
That's the Mankato news for tonight, this is Lizzie hoping your news is good news.
